Deployment # 3

So, lots of things have happened since I last blogged.

Brendon deployed to Afghanistan again. Hard to believe our third deployment has finally started. It's different this time around because I'm not pregnant or having a newborn of some sort. First deployment, Braden was 2 months old when he left. I was pregnant with Jacob during the second deployment.

Braden has taken it the hardest. He knows his daddy is gone to work for a long time but he thinks its his fault. No matter how I've tried to convince him it's not, he doesn't believe me. I feel horrible about it. The first day he was in hysterics. He's calmed down a lot more. He does come to me in random spurts and tells me he misses his daddy. Always breaking my heart.

We also started a paper deployment chain but that's taken forever to put together. After all, 200+ chains to make and put up is a lot of work. Ha!

It was a good week, I think. :)

We Painted!

So, last weekend we finally started to paint Braden and Jacob's room. Braden refuses to sleep alone and wants his little brother with him. Silly. It turned out a little greener than we thought but it still looks good. We've been so slow to get going this week, even though it's almost over!

Ouch!

Yikes, has it really been almost a month since I last updated? I guess so. My husband came home from JRTC at the beginning of February, so that's had me preoccupied for the most part.

We took a trip to Nashville Friday morning, it was pretty fun. We got there when the mall first opened, so shopping was a breeze since most of the people were working or in school. We bought the boys some new clothes, a few special things here and there and ate lunch at the Rainforest Cafe. I forgot my camera, so I didn't get pictures there.

Braden had a meltdown during the thunderstorm part of the dining experience. I hoped he would've liked it but he didn't. Jacob and Wyatt didn't seem to mind it, though.

My name is Forrest. Forrest Gump.

Remember those famous words Tom Hanks spoke in Forrest Gump?

That's pretty much my life everyday. I do the same routine day in and day out but honestly? I still never expect some of the things that happens. I guess that's what happens when you have 3 boys and a husband in the Army. My kids bring me so much joy, my husband brings me even more happiness than I ever thought could happen. And it's still unexpected the things they all do at times.

I never really thought the words from good ole mama Gump would speak to me, but they do.

Potty Training.

Bubba is 5, I knew it was really time to get full on with the potty training. I know he could use the potty, but there are times where he can't help himself but to have a accident.

I can safely say he is about 98% trained! It thrills me to say that but it's true. I do expect we will have more accidents in our future but it is such a relief to not have to buy pull ups on top of the disposables we're using. Yes, we do cloth diaper Cubby and Sunshine but honestly, ever since we moved on post, our water has made a routine difficult for us. We are constantly having to strip and try another routine. Our washer needs to be filled with more water, the water is just SO hard. It's just frustrating and makes me want to sell our stash altogether.

But on that note, I can safely say, Braden is just about 100% out of diapers

Braden Turns 5!

Today my oldest, Braden, turned 5 years old! I can't believe how fast time has gone.

We spent the day just having a nice breakfast, lunch at Chick-Fil-A and let him play at the play area, and we celebrated with cake this evening. Angry Birds cake, to be exact.

I am ready to see how this next turns out for him as he starts school!

Family Vacation Of The Year

Vacation time is usually difficult for us to plan since we typically go home on block leave. This year will be a little different. Braden's birthday is tomorrow and Jacob and Wyatt have their birthdays in March. Block leave is sometime in March, so we had planned to surprise the boys with a trip to DISNEY WORLD!

It will be our last family vacation that we get to do together before the deployment, so we'd love to make every moment count.

I still can't believe we are about to go through our third.
