I have a lot to catch up on through here, life has been super busy for us. Brendon came home from Afghanistan June 23rd! We've been playing life catch up ever since. Braden is certainly happy to have his daddy home and Jacob has adjusted to him really well. We also have found out we are expecting baby # 3, also due in March. It was an accident but definitely not a mistake.
Braden has been going to speech therapy and his speech has improved dramatically, it still needs work, but it's gotten so much better. He also had his occupational evaluation, but I truly believe he was misdiagnosed, so we are getting a second opinion. This OT therapist diagnosed him with conduct disorder, throughout the report she mentioned sensory, sensory, sensory and that took up most of the report. She didn't explain very much and told me to just read over the paper. Basically because he didn't want to sit and play with her during the evaluation, that is why he was diagnosed with that. I've been chatting with other moms and Braden's speech therapist about this and they agreed we should get a second opinion because it sounds like he has sensory processing disorder, not a conduct disorder. I've also been reading a lot of parents experiencing this same issue on the SPD blogging network. Amazing support. It sucks when he has the meltdown though, mostly in public and when people give you "that look", you're mortified. I still don't have any advice on how to handle the meltdowns other than just dealing and hope it passes.
That's pretty much where we stand now. We're in the process of getting Braden enrolled in EFMP and getting a IEP through the school.
